Dolores Eggert Obituary

Dolores Nora (Grummert) Eggert, 86 years of age, of Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born October 15, 1931, the second child of Edwin and Lora (Schmale) Grummert  in the home of her parents west of Plymouth. In March of 1937, the family moved to a farm ½ mile north of Harbine and continued to be members of Peace Lutheran Church north of Jansen. She attended Harbine School for grades 1-10 and then graduated from Fairbury Senior High School in May of 1949. Dolores taught Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church and also sang in the choir. She worked in the Jefferson County Assessor’s office.

On August 21, 1949, Dolores was united in marriage to Norman W. Eggert at Peace Lutheran Church. They moved to a farm 1 mile east and 1 mile north of Jansen. She belonged to the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jansen where they were members. In December of 1956, they moved to a farm south of Beatrice. They became members of St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. Dolores worked as a Nurse Aid at the Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice. They became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice in 1995. Dolores and Norman sold their farm and moved to Plymouth in 2002.

Dolores is survived by her children, Gary Eggert and wife Maureen of Grand Island, Bob Eggert of Fairbury, Jane Conz and husband Bob, James Eggert, both of Beatrice; grandchildren, Clarissa Studley and husband Dr. Brett of Roca, Matthew Eggert and wife Clara of Bellevue, Amy Niles of Sargent, Diana Johns and husband Jason of North Platte, Bonnie Ralston and husband Chris of Sutherland, Shannon Eggert and wife Jody of Lincoln, Spencer Eggert of Redmond, Washington, Marshall Eggert and special friend Sarah Armstrong of Lincoln, Colleen Bruna and husband Kent of Beloit, Kansas, Joshua Conz, Zachary Conz, Cameron Eggert, Tyler Eggert, Jeremy Eggert, Abbygail Eggert, all of Beatrice; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Aden and husband Harold of DeWitt, Evelyn Jordening of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, June Eggert of Plattsmouth, Lois Meints of Beatrice; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman on July 29, 2009; son, Norman Lee Eggert; grandson, Norman “Stormy” Eggert; granddaughter, Sarah Ann Eggert; great granddaughter, Emily Niles; daughter-in-law, Jean Eggert; brother, Leland Grummert; and brother-in-law, Martin Jordening. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Dirk Reek officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 AM Monday in the church basement. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 5:30 to 7 PM Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and also one hour preceding services at the church on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
