Diane M. (Goracke) Rhoden

Diane M. Rhoden, 57, of Beatrice, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 11, 2015.  She was born August 13, 1957 at Pawnee City, NE to Paul and Aladean (Schmit) Goracke.  She graduated from Adams High School.  On November 14, 1975.She married Tony Rhoden at Cortland, NE.  She worked at Beatrice Community Hospital in the Accounting Department.  Diane was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed flowers, cooking, baking, participating in the Gage County Relay for Life and spending time with her granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband Tony; son Travis Rhoden of Lincoln, NE; granddaughter Kyla Jo Rhoden of Lincoln, NE; mother and step-father Aladean and Dean Shuck all of Beatrice; brothers, Don Goracke and wife Teresa of Burr, NE, Tom Goracke and wife Nancy of Crawford, NE, Tim Goracke and wife Rachel of Beatrice, NE; sisters, Shirley White and husband Ron of Dodge City, KS, Pauline Messman and husband Darrell of  Beatrice, NE; Joleen Wrightsman and husband Brian of Beatrice, NE; step-brothers, Gary Shuck of Centennial, CO, Kirk Shuck and wife Julie of Grand Island, NE; step-sisters, Brenda Hoyer and husband Gene of Ashton, Iowa, Dianne Johnson and husband Wes of Leawood, KS; brothers-in-laws Lee Schmoldt of Beatrice, NE, Bob Schmoldt of Omaha, NE, Harold Schmoldt of Lincoln, NE; Jeff Rhoden, Warren Rhoden both of Beatrice; and sister – in- law, Lynn Wesley all of Beatrice; Godchildren, Tessa Kaminsky of Wichita, KS, Ryan Messman of Lincoln, NE and Blake VanWinkle of Beatrice, NE; several nieces and nephews including Crystal VanWinkle of Beatrice.

She was preceded in death by her father Paul J. Goracke, parents-in-law Warren Rhoden and Ruth Rhoden and step-brother Kenny Shuck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Barnhill, officiating.  Inurnment in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. No viewing cremation has taken place but the family will greet friends at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
