Cordell “Cork” Koch, 69, Plymouth, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home. He was born April 2, 1948 to Clarence & Edna (Hasenohr) Koch. He lived on a farm north of Plymouth all of his life. Cordell attended Plymouth Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1966. Cordell married Jenell Gronemeyer on November 19, 1966, he worked for Milius Hardware and farmed until 1985. He then was employed at Grabowski Construction and Farmers Coop Elevator for 30 years until retirement. Cordell was a member of the Army Reserves from 1969 -1975. He enjoyed planting and delivering sweet corn to family and friends, hunting, his redneck shop inventions, and visiting with friends in his second home "the shop".
Survivors include his wife, Jenell of Plymouth; daughters, Jemi Schultz of Wilber, NE, Chelia Miller of Gretna, NE, Cherie Reckley of Sterling, NE; grandchildren, Natasha Bruss and husband Mitchell of Clatonia, NE, Justine Reckley of Sterling, Cordell Reckley of Lincoln, NE, Cameron Linderman of Sterling, Alyson Miller of Gretna, Kelsey Miller of Gretna and Kane Schultz of Wilber; sister, Roxine Weichel of Beatrice; brother, Verdell Koch and wife Priscilla of DeWitt, NE; sister-in-law, Jeanette Schroeder of Beatrice, brother-in-law, James Gronemeyer of DeWitt; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend Buddy.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Edna Koch; father-in-law, Orvel Gronemeyer; mother-in-law, Esther Gronemeyer; brothers-in-law, Robert Weichel, James Schroeder; nephew, Ryan Weichel; and niece, Lynn Koch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt, NE with Pastor Sean Koos officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, DeWitt. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. at the church. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Harman-Wright Mortuary, BEATRICE, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at Harman-Wright Mortuary, PLYMOUTH, then at the church one hour preceding services.
