Burt Duane Rhine

Burt D. Rhine, 79 of Liberty, NE passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville, KS. He was born April 23, 1937 in Beatrice. He attended Union Center School and graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1955. Burt served in Germany form 1957 to 1960. Married Beverly Garton on October 1, 1960 at the Blue Springs Methodist Church. He worked at StoreKraft before moving to the farm in 1961. He had a dairy for many years, was a 4-H leader, served on the Pawnee County Extension Board. Burt was a former member of the Liberty Legion Post #246 and served one year as commander. He enjoyed farming, watching NASCAR, tractors and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; sons, Bob and wife Tracy of Blue Springs, NE, Jerry and wife Wendy of Beatrice, Jim Bob of Virginia, NE; grandkids, Robin Crouse and husband Bill, Travis Rhine and Jordan Rhine; great-grandkids, Diamond, Justin, Bryleigh and Corbin; brother, Byron Rhine of Kentucky; brothers-in-law, John Garton and Danny Garton form Harbine; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Neva (Earnhart) Rhine; sister-in-law, Arlene Witaker and husband Dick; and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel in Beatrice with John Snyder officiating.  Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery, Blue Springs, NE. Graveside Military Rites will be provided by the Liberty Legion Post #346. Visitation will be at the mortuary, Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
